This piece was a ceramic homage to the Girl in a Pearl Earring by Vermeer, as well as to one of Rembrandt's finest group portraits, The Syndics of the Draper's Guild.

They are both some of my favorite Dutch masterpieces and I suspect I am not alone in this opinion.....

There are so many artists that inspire my sculptures. Certainly Michelangelo, Picasso, Rodin, Manzu , and Arneson come to mind. It's great to be able to salute some of my favorites by my creations.
